The concept of mobbing was introduced in 1963 by Austrian zoopsychologist Konrad Lorenz. He called mobbing the phenomenon of several small animals attacking a larger enemy. The term became famous after the publication in 1972 of a work by Swedish physician P. Hyneman, who compared children's violent behavior towards their peers with aggressive animal behavior and called it mobbing. In its modern sense, the term was first used by the Swedish researcher of work psychology H.
