Based on Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen's drama “An Enemy of the People”. The action takes place on the eve of World War I in a provincial seaside town. The main character, Dr. Stockman, a capable doctor, offers his fellow citizens the bitter truth instead of a toxic, albeit sweet lie. As a result, he becomes the object of widespread censure and loses his job.
